We believe a thank-you should feel like a story worth retelling.
So over the weekend we loaded up a van full of salami, cheese, fruit and drove out to Glacial Till Cider House & Tasting Room in Ashland, NE. Our mission? Throw a party for every new client who decided this year to entrust us with their money—and their future.
Most financial firms send a thank-you card or a coffee mug with their logo on it. We figured our new clients would rather have a custom wooden cutting board and the skills to turn it into something their friends will fight over.
Thirty new clients made the trip. We handed everyone a gorgeous walnut cutting board—hand-engraved by the business class at Centennial High School, because supporting local kids learning to run a business felt like the right kind of investment. Then we turned our guests loose with salami, aged cheddar, honey, and those little caselvatranos that make you feel fancy even if you can’t pronounce them.

Within ten minutes the room sounded like a family reunion that serves hard cider instead of sweet tea.
Here’s what we loved most: nobody was talking about the market. Nobody asked about basis points or Roth conversion ladders. They were swapping stories about their kids, their favorite trips, and that one time they tried to make bacon from scratch and almost burned the garage down.
Those are the moments we live for.
Because here’s the truth we never want to forget: when you hand us your money, you’re really handing us your dreams, your worries, your “I hope there’s enough” moments. That’s not a transaction. That’s trust. And trust deserves more than a generic thank-you note.
So we built an event that said, in the loudest, cheesiest way possible: We see you. We’re grateful for you. And we’re in this for the long haul—whether we’re folding salami roses together or making sure you never have to eat cat food in retirement.

By the end of the event, every board looked like it belonged in a magazine (or at least on somebody’s Instagram story). More importantly, people were already texting their friends: “You have to come over tonight—I made this ridiculous charcuterie board and we’re destroying it together.”
That was the secret plan all along.
We wanted our new clients to leave with something useful in their hands and a reason to gather the people they love around the table. Because a life well-invested isn’t just about the numbers in an account. It’s about the nights you get to host, the memories you get to fund, and the contentment that lets you say yes to the good stuff.
To every new client who showed up, laughed loud, and took home a board dripping with goat cheese—thank you. Seriously. You’ve changed our story for the better, and we can’t wait to keep writing it with you. Welcome to the JS Financial family!
